Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the illustrious former captain of India, celebrates his 43rd birthday in Mumbai alongside Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Ruturaj Gaikwad, a player for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), also took a break from Team India’s tour to Zimbabwe to wish MS Dhoni a happy birthday via video chat. Dhoni is currently in Mumbai with his wife Sakshi to attend Anant Ambani, the son of Mukesh Ambani,’s pre-wedding musical event. A video of Dhoni cutting his birthday cake with Sakshi and Salman Khan standing next to him went viral early on July 7.

Salman Khan later posted on social media to wish Dhoni a happy 43rd birthday.

Salman Khan tweeted, “Happy Birthday, Captain!” along with a photo from the birthday bash.

After Dhoni himself gave him the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings IPL team, Ruturaj Gaikwad video phoned Dhoni. Gaikwad’s tourmates in Zimbabwe, Mukesh Kumar and Tushar Deshpande, participated in the video conference as well. Deshpande is a CSK player as well.

The renowned hairstylist Aalim Hakim revealed Dhoni’s new short haircut last month, and it is visible in the video.

Not only is Dhoni a well-known former Indian captain who was born in July. On July 8, Sourav Ganguly was born, and on July 10, Sunil Gavaskar was born.

Gaikwad disappoints for India

A youthful Indian squad captained by Shubman Gill lost the opening Twenty20 match against Zimbabwe shortly after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. Born on July 10, Gaikwad batted at number one and was a player. He managed to score just seven runs off of nine balls, as India was unable to reach their low goal of 116. In the second game of the five-match T20I series, India will play Zimbabwe the following day in an attempt to exact revenge for their humiliating loss to the T20I side that is rated 12th in the ICC rankings.
